Gummy Smile?
Not a problem
Stage 1. Initial situation

Female patient presented with a complaint about her gummy smile. After further diagnosis, it was determined that gingivectomy was the best course of action with a little crown lengthening in few of the teeth.
Stage 2. The plan
The areas to be removed were highlighted for verification with the patient and to have a clear guide for the procedure.

Stage 3. The gingivectomy part

Gingivectomy was first performed following the guide using a scapula.
Stage 4. A little bit of osseous recontouring
An apically re-positioned flap was used with a little bit of recontouring done for a few selected teeth.

Stage 5. Flap reduction

Procedure was completed on all the teeth and the flap was then re-positioned apically and sutured in place.
Stage 6. It's important to follow up. Always.
After 3 months, the patient was brought in again for follow-up. The gingival tissue healed pretty well with minimal tissue rebound.
